No. At the alpha stage we automatically generate a test wallet for you inside the platform — no external wallet is required. Later we will add support for external wallets, but for now it’s not needed.

No. In the current alpha version the seed phrase is not provided and import/export is disabled for security reasons. We plan to add safe key export in the future — we’ll announce it when ready.

0.2 MON every 12 hours. These test tokens are only used to pay for transactions inside the platform.

They need a StegaChain account (wallet) and the secret key you used to encrypt the message. In the READ section they enter your address and the key — decryption happens locally in their browser.

Any text messages, except illegal content or content violating platform rules. Remember: ciphertext is stored publicly on-chain, so avoid sharing personal data unless required.

Messages are encrypted on your side and protected with a secret key. Even if the server is compromised, the content cannot be decrypted without the key. Still, follow security hygiene: store the key in a password manager, don’t share it, and use strong unique passwords for login.

Access to encrypted messages cannot be recovered — the key is never stored on the server. Create a new key for future conversations and make sure to back it up.

Yes. The dashboard allows entering your own key (Base64). Keep it safe — whoever has the key can read your messages.

The ciphertext is recorded in transactions on the blockchain testnet. Records are immutable: they cannot be deleted or edited, but they cannot be read without the key.

Messages cannot be deleted from the blockchain. We can hide them in the interface, but the transaction remains in the network.

Yes, in alpha we focus on short text messages. Very long ones may be rejected. Exact limits will be published in the documentation as the project evolves.

Usually confirmation arrives within a minute, but it depends on network load. We show the status and transaction hash immediately after sending.

In the testnet you use free tokens from the Faucet. No real costs involved. In production networks, gas fees will apply — we’ll provide details later.

No. Decryption happens locally in the recipient’s browser. We never see or process your plaintext.
